United Hospice of Rockland, Inc.
The mission of the United Way of Rockland is to increase the value and impact of community support and resources through collaborations that advance the common good. Our vision is of a community where individuals and families have the skills to achieve a quality education, economic security and a healthy lifestyle.
To accomplish our goals, The United Way of Rockland brings together a local network of nonprofit, corporate and government partners to implement strategic initiatives that go beyond what any single organization could accomplish alone.
The United Way of Rockland County has served as the only umbrella agency for all Health and Human Service non-profit agencies in Rockland County since 1964. No other organization has a more extensive grant process in which we assess community issues, focus on prevention, invest in solutions and measure the results of our efforts on an annual basis. The programs that are funded make a positive and measurable impact on Rockland residents from the youngest child to the most senior adult.
As advocates for non-profits, the United Way sponsors both a Fall and Spring Day of Caring to promote volunteerism and introduce participants to local non-profits.
United Way of Rockland is a member of the Hudson Valley Region 211 information and referral system. This free multi-lingual service is available by dialing 211 or via the web at www.hudson211.org.
