RDC is committed to supporting development professionals’ ability to hone their skills through continuing education. In keeping with this mission, an annual scholarship program has been created to help our membership offset the cost of third-party professional development programs.
The program must be offered through a certified or recognized third-party organization. It may take the form of any of the following: webinar, class, conference, training program, etc., but it must have professional development as its goal. RDC will subsidize up to $500 or 50% of the program cost, whichever is lower.
Applicants must submit a complete application at least two weeks prior to the start of the program for which they are applying. Given review constraints, applications received later than this time may not be considered. Applicants must be development professionals (ie: Development Director, Executive Director, Development Coordinator, Board Chair/President, Fundraising Chair, et al) of a nonprofit RDC member to qualify.
Awards will be made to those who qualify, on a first-come, first-served basis, until the $2500 annual budget allocated for the Developing Leaders Scholarship program is exhausted. In order to provide this opportunity to as many RDC members as possible, only one scholarship per organization per 12-month period will be awarded.
Payment will be made to the RDC member organization. The organization is required to provide RDC with verification of complete payment to the program within 90 days of receipt of the scholarship check. If the program is canceled or the individual does not attend, payment must be reimbursed to the RDC.
In keeping with our mission to share knowledge among our members, approved applicants will be asked to submit a description of their learnings no later than one month after the completion of the program.
