Orange & Rockland Utilities

Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc., is an electric and gas utility with approximately 1,040 employees. O&R and its two utility subsidiaries, Rockland Electric Company and Pike County Light & Power Co., serve nearly 300,000 electric customers and 130,000 gas customers in seven counties in New York, northern New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania.

In the past 10 years, O&R and its employees have donated more than $6 million to enrich the quality of life in the communities they serve.

Over $2 million of those funds have been donated to the United Way of Rockland County. O&R has been United Way of Rockland County’s Top Donor for more than a decade.

About $1 million of the $6 million contributed by O&R and its employees was donated to the community through grants from O&R’s Community Investment Program. This program emphasizes grants for education, environmental, cultural and public safety programs.

The balance is donated by O&R through Community Development grants that allow the Company to contribute money directly to organizations and events such as the annual Rockland County Executive Arts Award event; Keep Rockland Beautiful, and Rockland Family Shelter for their “Domestic Awareness” program.
